The Best Way To Pray

The Best Way To Pray
A priest, a minister and  a guru sat discussing the best positions for prayer, while a telephone  repairman worked nearby.  "Kneeling is definitely the best way to  pray," the priest said.   "No," said the minister. "I get the best results standing with my hands outstretched to Heaven."  "You're both  wrong," the guru said. "The most effective prayer position is lying  down on the floor."   The repairman could contain himself no longer.  "Hey, fellas," he interrupted.   "The best prayin' I ever did was when I was hangin' upside  down from a telephone pole"

.......see?  We've all had a few "telephone poles" come across our lives.  I will say a prayer while sitting at my desk, driving, before I go to sleep at night.  I believe that God hears us no matter where we are in our lives.

You all know that Miss T suffers panic attacks.  One night she came to my bed and I got her to lay down, she was still wiggly and shakey.  I began to pray for my baby's troubles....in a matter of what seemed seconds, she was sound asleep.

Hmmmm me thinks God heard me.

Do you think that the rule of "no prayer in school" stopped the children or teachers at Columbine or any other school that has come under some sort of turmoil?  I doubt it.  I would certainly be breaking that rule.  If my butt survived, I'd take detention anytime!

Prayer should be allowed in schools.....someone explain to me how it has ever HURT anyone. I know God listens to us, no matter who we are or where we pray. Cute joke.

All we have to do is believe.

If those kids that did the shooting at Columbine did go to church or had a family life They wouldn't be praying in jail right! It is a very sad thing that had happened!
HAve a Great 90 degree Day!

I agree with you detention over death anytime. I think the ones who put these rules into effect would be in detention with us. There is nothing like a good scare to make someone realize that God is a real.

I agree with you 100%.  I do try to go to church on Sundays but I try to pray everyday.  Its usually on my car on the way to or from work.  Sometimes while I am in the shower....when ever where ever when you are in need no matter where you are God will here you!!!

Have a great week....Liz

Poor Miss T.  I didn't realize kids get panic attacks.  I get them from time to time and they are no fun.  Glad God answered!

I rarely pray in the conventional way.  I always have conversations with God all day.  It's just the way I do it.  HUGS Chris
