Good to bad; crash n burn.

Like Jaws 2....just when you think it's safe...........

Mr Man has been quite good; "we" survived the wedding.  Mainly because I warned him that all eyes would be on him and his behavior regarding the drink.

So this week (Wednesday) he says he's feeling all "mushy in here" and points to his chest as if to say he really loves me.  Sometimes during the week I will text him a message that says "love you".

I get a text back normally "love you too"....this week I got the "love you too" and it was signed "mushy".

Let's all say it together....."awwwwwwwwww".

At night I usually reach over and touch his chest.  I get a "good night" from him, nothing outrageous, sometimes it's the little things that mean the most.

My stepDad came home on Thursday;  I ran some things over that Mom requested.  He looked great!  Still has a long recovery.  On Friday I went over and Mom gave me a grocery list.  So I call Tom to see if he's picking up Miss T.

Said he hadn't planned on it, but guess he could.  It was 1pm and I explained that I had been with the rents and had a shopping list.  Then I thought "why bother him?  I'm right here" so I called him back and said "nevermind, she can go with me".

He said "thanks, now I won't rush" from the restaurant job.  Besides there was really not a reason I couldn't get her.

Tom picking her up is a decent excuse to keep him on the right track.

Note to self:  stick with your gut; stay with your instincts.

About 3:30 I called Mr Man who was still at the restaurant.  He wanted to rave about an upcoming "new" venture this owner had.  I said please talk to me when you get home.

HA!

I called a couple of times after that and didn't get an answer.  Then at 6pm I remembered ----- he had MY atm card.  I said to the Roomie "I'm going after it".

He wasn't at the restaurant.

So I headed to the "known" hangout road.....sure enough I spied the truck off the road parked in front of a trailer.  I whipped around and pulled down the dirt road and parked.....promptly walked to the door and tested it....the glass door was locked.

I beat on the door.....then I said OPEN THIS DOOR.

Nothing....but I heard people in the home (trailer) so I beat again and said OPEN THIS DOOR BECAUSE MY NEXT MOVE WILL BE TO BREAK IT!

It opened....a man blocked me from going in but I could see Tom was sitting in the room.  There was a woman in a chair opposite with a beer.  All that I saw in front of Tom was his cigarettes.  The guy refused to allow me in and I said "no problem but HE'S coming out NOW".

Tom wouldn't budge.  Man and I kept up a banter and he got a lot of "I could care less" from me.  I told Tom to park the truck down the road a bit....he agreed.

BUT when we left and I turned to the right, HE turned to the left and proceeded to get on the major road and head towards home.  I had to do a spin around and catch up to him.

In the meantime I made a 9-1-1 call......then was transfered to highway patrol.  Would you belive I made 4 or 5 calls and could NOT get any help getting a drunk driver stopped?!?!?!?!?!  WTH???

I could really use a good cry..........but I am not able to muster up the tears yet.  I am so totally confused.  Yet I should not be, because this is in many ways "normal" and sometimes expected.

I can't help but wonder if he's trying to get me to make the first move.  He comes across like he's pushing me to the point of tossing him out, so he can blame it all on me.

I ran away......roomie and Miss T and myself ran over to the beachhouse last night.  Just to get away.  It was nice.  We grabbed some snacks and a couple of pizza's and just chilled.

Today we spent most of our time filtering through shells on the beach.  The weather was perfect!  The girls and I enjoyed our down time.

I was explaining to roomie how depressed I have been for most of this year.  My spirit is broken.   There is not a light in my eyes anymore.

I'm on a roller coaster.......and I don't even like roller coasters.

Iron Vampire or Queen of Hearts?

Your Monster Profile

Iron Vampire

You Feast On: Armadillos

You Lurk Around In: Sewers

You Especially Like to Torment: Hairdressers

www.blogthings.com/monsternamegenerator/

I do like to torment hairdressers - roflmao!!  Just ask cindilouwho.

Armadillo's?  Well, they do have those at Texas Roadhouse, but I think they're cheesy and hot.  Come to think of it, they're actually good!!

Sewers?  Not for me; now if it said SKEWERS I'd say sure.  Gimme a shishkabob anyday.

I enjoy Halloween.  It's the only time of year we adults have a good excuse/reason for dressing up in our fantasy costume and acting silly or..........letting our inner self out, in public at least.   Scaring children........................

Miss T always wants to be some kind of fairy princess.  Except for last year.  Last Halloween she was "Jack Sparrow" and went out with my 1.5 yr old nephew who was the cutest vampire.

When I was young our costumes came in those boxes with the clear front.

Remember those?  The plastic mask?  The plastic suit?? Ugh, hot n nasty they were but nonetheless it was cool to get one.

Once I was older, it was the homemade ghost or a witch.

My Nanny worked for a clothing store and she gave us a manequin.  We bloodied that thing and dressed it up.  Once it was worn out, I took it into the woods and buried the bottom half LEGS UP .......hoping to wierd out a hunter or other kids one day.

When I was in my first year of college my Granny made me a clown outfit!  My MIL at the time wore it for years.  I still have it - the years have shrank the material though!

This year?  I wanna be the Queen of Hearts!

My Favorite Month

Not only is this Halloween season it is also

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE MONTH.

This means that no matter what I do to Mr Man....

He can't retalliate!!!

Next to April (Child Abuse Month) this is a fun time for me.

                        (Insert Evil Laugh)

Through out the year I will say "Oh, I can't WAIT till October" and I'll look at Miss T and remind her that she gets a double dose in one year.

They all think I'm nutz, but, HEY, someone has to promote OUR side of DV right?

This is the month I can make them DO ALL for me!!!! as I sit back like Cleopatra with someone feeding ME grapes and fanning my hot flashes while cracking the whip!!  They can wash and fold the laundry!  They can cook!!

Reality?

Who needs it!

I'm staying in this dream for the rest of the month!!!!

IT'S OVER!!! & Happy BD TOM!

Singing the Hallelujah song......

Step Dad is in a regular room and doing great!  Wanting candy bars and Newsweek magazine.  I haven't had a chance this weekend to get to see him, but Mom has kept me up to date.

The Big Event is behind me now.

Friday night rehearsal was quick and simple, eat and run.

Saturday, I picked up pictures and Miss T and I were dropped off at 10:30am.  We began helping set up, prepare beans and gathering the guest book, etc.

I began Miss T's hairdo, then finally did my own.  It was chaotic a bit.  The bride trying to keep things organized.  The Groom surprised her with the necklace via us girls....tears flowing.  Our single stem roses were beautiful, her bouquet perfect.

The ceremony was very nice....the dog was the hit of the party wanting his momma and daddy to pay attention to him.  She squatted down after the ceremony for a pic with him and tumbled over, feet in the air, drawers showing.........I began singing "The Bride Hits The Floor" to the tune of "The Farmer In The Dell"....pictures snapped of course.

Beach music filled the air while we dined on BBQ pig and the fixings.  The cake was delicious.....can't always say that about wedding cake.

I kept a glass in my hand all night!!  Vodka/cranberry or champagne.  Mr Man kept to just a couple of beer.  YAY HIM!!

Miss T showed all how to dance to "Cupid Shuffle" and even got a Happy Birthday out for Mr Man!  Plus she showed off some of her turns.....scarey, she could be a "professional".

At 11pm Miss T said she was ready to go home....so I took her, (only 5 miles to homebase) then went back to the bride's parents home and talked till about 2:30am...came home and crashed!!!

        *******************************************

So today is Mr Man's 56 Birthday!  We took off for Little River SC to eat an early dinner at Pat & Mike's Irish Pub.  They have the best Shepard's Pie.  Then we meandered our way over into Calabash and Ocean Isle.  Just tooling around.

Once home we found a fresh made (still warm) double chocolate cake waiting on the table.  Roomie said she figured he'd appreciate that!  And boy does he!

I have been miserable all day....feeling FAT!  FAT! FAT!  Too much alky last night and cake!  So my ride today was uncomfortable.  I kept blaming it on "someone musta washed my jean capri's in hot water and dried them"......ya think I convinced anyone??

Did I mention that I had to get another round of prednizone?  The Mad Itch came back and last Tuesday I called up the doc and she refilled for me.  If this comes back again, I guess I'd better hit the dermatologist.  Thankfully I didn't have the rash or itchies for the Wedding.  I couldn't have contained myself!  Plus the Rx keeps me wound up and semi-awake at night.

Now that I'm megga tired.....I still have the dreaded laundry to look at!  One load in the wash....preparing for one more.  It's a never ending battle.

However, I DO plan to get in between the sheets before too long!

Maybe I'll take a sleeping pill.  Some deep Zzzz's would be very nice.

Updating Today

At 1:30pm I rushed over to the hospital to make the 2pm visiting hours (just in time, whew).  I must say I was pleasantly pleased with my visit.

StepDad had been moved to the opposite side of CCU to kind of a step down area.  We didn't have to wear the lovely yellow gowns but we still had to wash our hands.

Inside a "private" room, as private as can be, there he was, the head of the bed elevated and he was propped up under his back with pillows.  You know laying flat is an uncomfortable thing.

His color was awesome and the swelling from the extra fluids was subsiding.  He even laughed as best he could and tried to joke with us.  He even asked his friend who was there visiting if he had "taken care of that business deal".......

Geesh that's just like him, always working no matter what.  He told Mom that he remembered she and I being there last night.  I said "do you remember me flipping the hem of your gown up and down to cool you off after you said you were so hot?" and he said "NO".

I said "well, you were grinning as if you were thinking 'now she's gonna flash everyone' "........ that got a chuckle.

I just had to add that blinkie.......roflmao!!

The 5pm update is that they have removed 2 more tubes and may remove the rest tomorrow and get him up to a regular private room.  That is great news, this means progress!

I was the last to leave the room and I promptly told him that he was not allowed to scare me like this ever again!

Cindilouwho's proof was OK and by OK I mean, OK.  The background came out quite dull and I told the printer that I would go home and see if I could give it some life and email it back to him.

I know how Bridezilla would react to seeing the dull grass.  Guess I'll have to hand paint each stem................

Daddy-O Update & Chai Tea

Well, ya know what they say....ya can't keep a good man down.

I just got off the phone with my Mom and she says stepDad has had the breathing tube removed is sitting up, talking and has eaten breakfast.

The doc came in and said he wanted to get him up and moving around to which Daddy-O said

"say what?".........

Mom said he told them he was ready for them to leave (LOL) -- he is a man of few words when in a vunerable position.  The funny thing is the effect of the medication is making him "happy" which can be good and bad.

I'll try to go over at the 2pm visitation but if not, then for sure at 5pm.  I know he misses seeing my sweet face ROFLMAO!!!

Last night the family met at the mall at Ruby Tuesday's for dinner and discussion......Calif brother came in late, having just drove in from Raleigh.  He, Mom, bigger lil bro and myself went back to the hospital to visit.

That's when I fell in love...........with Chai Tea!!!

Good stuff.  At first I was skeptical, but Calif bro said "live a litte".....I really wanted the mocha but I'm glad I ordered the Chai Tea.

AND I tried Lipton's Green Tea with Citrus.  Gotta tell ya, that's good stuff too.  Add a little vodka or maybe some peach schnapps and...............

Anywho ......

Cindilouwho has picked out a photo and called me today saying can we get a 16x20 by tomorrow...............

Luckily she came to the right person.  I will have a proof copy in my hands very shortly and probably bring the finished copy home TODAY!

How's that for a howda ya do?

THANK YOU!

God is so good.....it is very comforting to know that J-land is such a great prayer chain.  I thank each and everyone for lifting us up during my StepDad's procedure.

What was to be a simple heart cath turned into emergency bi-pass surgery.  From what we were told we were very lucky.  He had a stent put in about 8 months ago and when they went in the artery the stent collapsed!!

They were able to hold it open with the balloon pump but that wasn't cutting it!  A specialist came in and determined the best thing to do was the surgery.  I don't even know how many passes they ended up making.

He had bi-pass surgery 17 years ago....it is amazing that it has held up this long esp since he's a smoker, loves sausage biscuits and greasy cheeseburgers!

He and Mom were at the hospital at 5:30am.....by 12:30pm they were beginning the bi-pass.  It took a very long time to get to the heart because of scar tissue.  I am told that a lot of times the scar tissue adheres to the heart and they have to be very careful.

Because he had stents in his legs too, they had to use a vein from the groin area and he's still on the heart pump and ventilator.  They will attempt to remove the pump later today and wake him up.

They woke him around 5am today and asked him questions and he nodded and sqeezed the nurse's hand in agreement.  That was good news.  Mom saw him yesterday not long after surgery and he was responsive to her too.  She is at the hospital now and says they are giving him blood, he is swollen and so far so good.

StepBro is flying in today from California.  Unecessary, but I guess he feels like he needs to be here.  StepDad will be in the ICU area until at least Friday or Saturday.

I remember back in March StepDad was hurting a lot....but they had done the stent and that should have helped.  What we didn't know was that the doc had missed something then.  So since then he's been a walking time bomb!  Thankfully they scheduled this cath and were able to do the surgery....had the stent closed or blocked otherwise while he was home or out on the farm, he would be dead.

I met Bridezilla, er, Cindilouwho at her house and we took 300 pictures!  About 20 in her front yard and the rest were at the beach.  Her daughter and granddaughter came over and I was able to get some nice shots of all of them together.

Then the 2.5 yr old decided to run head on into the waves......her momma yelled for her to stop, but she kept on.  Then the momma ran for her and I started behind her......kid was knocked down by a wave and momma just did grab her in time.

Not before she soaked her gown

She drug the kid outta the water on her butt......scared us all!  Man were we furious with that kid.  I told her later on that she had scared me and almost made me cry.....made her promise to NEVER run into big water again!!  She agreed.....as best a 2.5 yr old can.

Never a dull moment in my world!!!!
