Surprised they don't lock me up!

Me!  Yes, me.

I got a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt.

So I'm sitting there in my car fuming! because how dare they stop ME for such a small infraction (I was saving my lunch which was sliding into the floorboard) when my DH is "allowed" to drive under the influence habitually!!!!!!

OK Greg, I know you're gonna say "It's the law" but geeeesh.  Motorcycle cops (which this one was) don't wear seatbelts!

My wearing a seatbelt does not insure that I will NOT cross the line and run over someone as a drunk would.

So what did I do?

Promptly asked the cop "why?" .......

He says "we do our best"....

(Oh no he didn't just say that!)

I held my composure and just stared at him.

Got back in my car; wrote down Mr Man's info, driver's license etc and told him to do us all a favor and do their job by catching people like this!

Can you guess that I'm pissed off????

Angry is more like it.

Up here in pa. they can't pull you over for not wearing your seat belt unless they catch you at something else, like driving under the influence of lunch hitting the floor!
have a great day.

You know what they say?  "CLICK IT or TICKET!"

In South Florida, it is a $129. fine.  Steep I know but they are trying to save lives.

How much was your ticket?

ummmm, Just how it Mr.Man's fault that you dropped your sandwich? Poor cop! Wonder how many co-dependency tickets he has to write out in a week, because They Did Break the Law?

(((((((((((((((HUGSTOYOU)))))))))))))))))That is a bummer.I dont like wearing my seatbrlt, ut I do.Sorry you got a tiket.

That sucks...I just saw another comment from Pa.  True it is.  We can't get a seat belt infraction unless we get pulled over for something else and don't have it on.  So what's up with this co-dependency crap comment?  I totally get the point of the ticket for you vs someone driving around continually under the influence.  Love ya, Chris

I agree.  There is more important things police should be worrying about rather than seatbealts.  How much was the fine? OUCH!

I understand your frustration but wearing a seatbelt is the law and it will become second nature to you once you get used to wearing one.  I've worn it for years and I don't even think of driving without it.

I know exacally how you feel. The same thing happened to me.
The car in front of me had a guy driving that I know was drunk.
He didnt get stopped, But I did.
And I had nothing to drink....
But because I wasnt wearing my seat belt, I got a ticket.

this reminds me of the day I sat in my bus watching the police in my town pull people over for no seatbelts.. Guess who got one in her car the next day??

I asked him if he could give me a warning and he handed me a ticket and said "here's your warning"  Oh dang!!

I agree with Phil, "it's the law."  My son is a police officer and they are only doing their job, and trying to help save lives.  Whenever I hear a comment like some of your readers left, it really disturbs me.  No one know what a police officer has to go through everyday.  Spend a day in their shoes, and we all might feel different.  I personally uphold and respect the law.  Hey, sorry if I offended anyone, but I'm  the mother of a wonderful police officer.  Have a great weekend.
