Dr Love's Challenges

Dr Love is challenging us to "spread the love" EVERYWHERE....so here we go!

http://journals.aol.com/garnett109/mybrainisinpain/entries/2007/01/30/love-is-in-the-air/3267

I would love to hear about some nice LOVE stories from everyone....pick out something special that took you by surprise.

Heck you can even tell us the anti-LOVE story, you know the one, the one that went totally wrong, but ended up in a nice make up story.

My Mr Man from rare time to time can surprise me.  Yes, I was with him when he bought my engagement ring.  He was getting aggravated because I wouldn't come over to the case and help him in his selection.  I said "well if I thought you were serious, I'd help you in a skinny minute" and his reply was "I AM SERIOUS"...................

He of course tried to go for the larger stone, I said NO, and picked out a nice 1/2 carat, you know, just for everyday wear.

When he picked up the ring (from being sized) we made dinner plans at our favorite restaurant, dressed nicely, sitting across from each other, candle lit on the table, cozy.  The waitress took our drink order and all of a sudden Tom says (while patting down his pockets)..........

....................

"I left my cigarettes in the truck, I'll be right back!"

Geeesh

OK, go get your cigs man.

I can see him as he's coming in the restaurant, and I'm paying no particular attention to him.

As he reaches the table he pulls from behind him 24 white roses!

I am totally shocked!  He's never brought me flowers (unless he was in the dog house!).....and further more, where the hell where they hiding?  I didn't smell them, or see them at all before!!!

He was so proud of himself for pulling that one off.  It seems that on his way home, he had stopped to get them, snuck them into the bed of the truck (we have a flat cover on it) before ever coming in the house!

There I sat with 2 dozen white roses and the waiter asked "special occassion?" and Tom said "I hope so, I just asked her to marry me!"  Even though we were pretty much regulars at at this restaurant, the waiter was cautious before offering congrats, saying "well, I hope you got the answer you wanted".

So do I...........................

Baby, Baby - Amy Grant

Baby, baby, I'm taken with the notion
To love you with the sweetest of devotion
Baby, baby, my tender love will flow from
The bluest sky to the deepest ocean
Stop for a minute
Baby, I'm so glad you're mine, yeah
You're mine

Baby, baby, the stars are shinin' for you
And just like me, I'm sure that they adore you
Baby, baby, go walkin' through the forest
The birds above a-singin' you a chorus
Stop for a minute
Baby, they're so glad you're mine, oh yeah

And ever since the day
You put my heart in motion
Baby, I realize that there's
Just no getting over you

Baby, baby, in any kind of weather
I'm here for you always and forever
Baby, baby, no muscle man could sever
My love for you is true and it will never
Stop for a minute
Baby, I'm so glad you're mine

And ever since the day
You put my heart in motion
Baby, I realize
There's no getting over you

And ever since the day
You put my heart in motion
Baby, I realize that there's
Just no getting over you
Over you

Baby, baby, always and forever
Baby, I'm so glad
Here for you, baby
I'm so glad you're mine
Baby, I'm so glad

When I think about you, it makes me smile
Baby, baby, be mine
Baby, I'm so glad
Don't stop giving love
Don't stop, no
Baby, I'm so glad that you're mine
Baby, I'm so glad

Awww, what a sweet story.  From what you've said about Mr Man...this is very endearing that he went to the trouble!!  Honestly, I think men just don't THINK they way we do...that's right, they don't THINK!!  Why is it they want to go for the big, ol, mongo stone when it costs so much??  Me, I shoulda gone for it (I chose the smaller stone too, I didn't think he could afford the larger one!!)
