They did it! They actually got married.
I rushed home after grabbing 3 roses, 1 red for the bride, a pink one for Miss T and a Yellow one for me.
Once home I shoooo'd the groom OUT! Just go away - we'll see you there at 4! I figured that would give the bride a chance to roam around freely and not be stuck in her "old" room.
Miss T was already dressed....Tom was deciding which shirt to wear. I had to mow down the forest, change clothes and fix my hair and makeup.
First tragedy.....the zipper broke in her dress! Yes it did and there was no time to fix it. Luckily she had other dresses to choose from. We all decided against colors or print...go with the ivory and sheer cover.
Tom was the official chauf! He drove us to the Island to meet up with the groom and his best guy. We were about 15 mins early - not bad! But....the Magistrate was running 40 mins late!
OMG!
There we stand.......can't get into the building. Luckily there was a cool breeze (as cool as it can be in July). When he got there he was so sorry and all that yeah yeah yeah. We were not impressed with the "decor"; Best guy and I signed the license.
Then the Magistrate said "would you like to do this on the beach?" and I was thinking 'he read my mind'!! OF COURSE! Off we went across the street and over the public walk.
You could hear whispers from some of the sun bathers and their kids "looks like someone's getting married" and such.
I let them set up....Miss T by the Bride, Tom beside her (guess he was the "father of the bride") and I stood back and snapped pictures. It was a beautiful day!
Honestly, they really seem to be connected. They both wrote beautiful vows and the Bride cried.
After the ceremony and the handshakes, guess where we held the reception..............(come on Lanny....)
My favorite sub and pizza joint WOOO HOOO!!!!
Hey, we were all hungry and it was quick and easy.
The newlyweds arrived first, and we came in behind them saying "well the least we could do is throw you a reception!"....
$2 was put into the jukebox to play the couple's favorite tunes. When the pizza arrived I started singing "the bride cuts the cake, er, pizza......" so she stood up, he held the pie and she cut the first slice out!
ROFL!!!!
Hey, we had to make the most out of what we had!
I said to Tom "we throw a nice party"..... the restaurant was packed!
