CALLLLLLLLGON!

Good Sunday evening J-land.  Today has been dark in many ways.  The sky was grey all day and it has just now decided to boom & rain.  Tom has been in a funk since last night…he’ll grow out of it.?

I’ve been journal surfing……looks like everyone has had a decent weekend……enjoying their traditional Pizza night and household chores…ugh laundry!  The only thing that constantly multiplies and I STILL have nothing to wear!!   Hadon still teases me, saying we’re “much more than friends” yet I think he’s still looking for his keys!  Our friend  buggieboo1 has taught us a new word this weekend……Meningocele.  Denise’s reading said:  Decisions should be guided by what is just, true and honorable.  This is what I tried to tell my DH this weekend only it got him acting like a child.  But I still think I’ll make this a poster for our house!  Thanks Denise!

I so want to be neighbor’s with a lot of you……some will have to move South cause I’m just not into cold weather.

Me?  I can’t seem to get motivated enough to get out and work on my yard like the rest of you, even though it needs a touch.   Speaking of motivated…I just love Shelly’s quilt she made from all our comments …WTG !!!

Motivation……….OK I got a little this past week.  I began that miserable feat of finishing the paint job in Miss T’s room.  Each wall is now a different color.  The new armoir was put in place and I spent a lot of time rearranging her drawers and clothes and washing and ironing.   Whew!  Ironing!

Tom & I were going out Saturday night since Tara was at a friend’s house.  As we were preparing though, she called for me to come get her.  Seems her friend began watching a movie that Miss T didn’t want to see because it was scary and the friend wouldn’t turn it off.  I tried to explain to her that this was rude of the friend, but it didn’t matter at this point because Tara was well into panic mode.  So today, Sunday, she and I had a mother/daughter day of breakfast, shopping and watching one of the many Peter Pan movies.  She is admitting some of her anxiety is from the “d” word (she won’t say DIE).   That is her fear at night and of course she is fearing something will happen to me.  I blame this on fairy tales….none of them have mother’s if you think of it, except Sleeping Beauty.  The new doc gave me a Rx for Xanax for her just in case we’re away again like before when she has these attacks and the “show must go on”.  Man I hope she gets a grip soon.  It breaks my heart to see her suffering these attacks.  We have a new CD by Lori Lite that has 4 stories on it….T’s favorite is Goodnight Caterpillar.  I’m thinking I’ll burn that to a separate CD for her to take to school.  Her teacher said she could listen to it if she needed to.

Childish hubby.  DH….call it what you will…dumb hubby, ****head etc, but I gotta say sometimes he just is 5 shy of a 6 pack.  Since kid came home, we couldn’t go out together.  He wanted to go alone….hmmmm.  OK, here’s my take on this.  He can go, but he can’t be hanging out with the plumber friends (the ones who drink & drug and get him into more trouble) AND he can’t be drinking.  HELLO!!!  March was a stop for the DUI and he wants to go out AGAIN!  Now he’s pouting.  I can’t stand it when a grown man pouts……and he refuses to talk to me….even NOW and it’s 11:45pm Sunday night.  There is no rationalizing here.  I’m just letting him be.  If he wants to ruin his weekend, then so be it.  He won’t even talk to us.  His loss.  Hey, at least it’s been quiet.

Well, everyone here’s to the start of another week at Dramaville, Inc.

Whatta Day!

MaxineGoHome.jpg Was this a day or what?!?!?  I knew this morning when I woke up and before my feet ever hit the floor that I should have stayed home....more like I really wanted to stay home.  And I always said I'd follow my instincts....well this end stinks!

I get to the J.O.B, dramaville, inc., to work with the wacko co-worker.  She can't remember her name half the time.  I was trying to use the VISA, and the guy on the phone says "sorry, it says it is declined, reported stolen/lost"....HUH?????  Try that again...same message.  The boss'es mom had reported it cause she can't find her card.  Thank GOD we have another card.  So we're going over the recent Visa statement and boss says he doesn't know about the satellite radio charge...co-worker say's they don't have it....I said YES THEY DO...and she says "yeah, I know"......HUH????????  Did she not just say no? then yes in the same breath.   Remember we went to the wine tasting???  Well, it was sponsored by a Land Trust company and that charge was on the Visa as well...she asks about it, I say "yeah, that's the wine thing"...OK....5 minutes later she says "I don't have a clue what this land trust charge is" ....HUH????  So my smart self says "I've just told you 3 times that was the wine!" (Under my breath it's %^#$&%$*^%(&^*()^&)^&$#@!@!!!!!)  It was crap like this all day!  Like she was in la la land.....that's why we call her ditzy.

MaxineBeats.jpg  And I'm being serious.  It's at least once a week when I say "I'm gonna shoot you" to her!   She understands why I say this and we get a good laugh.  We actually work well together.  She has her strengths and I have mine and this makes for a good balance.  But she's just so scattered I can't stand it sometimes.  There are memory problems but geeesh, how did she ever raise her kids without incident!?!?!?!

Enough..............as soon as I got home today I went to work on putting the Kilz on Tara's 2 walls....the other walls have been painted already and we've just bought her a new armoir.  So I said let me in there to finish the paint job before we put that big thing in there...I don't wanna be moving it!  (Hmp...how come SHE gets the armoir and I don't???  I'm the one really really needing one! )  Tomorrow maybe I'll stop and get the 2 paint colors she needs to finish up.  She wanted her room 5 different colors on 5 different walls.  Yep she has 5 walls....her door sits on an angle creating a small, 5th wall.  One wall is yellow, and the other is aqua.  The others are to be pink, purple and blue.  Hey, it's her room!  She calls it the rainbow room.

  Two walls     The mess...

She had me take the brass headboard off the bed...which I like much better I must say.  See all those animals?  And there are more in a different room.  I moved her bookcase to the end of the bed to paint these walls......more "junk".  And that's just a little of the mess in her room.   I hope to finish painting tomorrow or Saturday and have a bit more organization to her stuff.  And some of it is going to say BYE BYE!!!!  I'd love to pack up the Barbie houses etc and ship them off.

Whew!  I'm going in for a nice hot shower!  I deserve one after this day!  Nite nite all and sweet dreams.

Humps on Hump Day

Happy Hump Day out there......

I was thinking this morning how many actual HUMPS have come into my life lately.  Tom's DUI ticket in March for instance.  His normal attorney that he uses for these things said he "cannot represent him" on this.  Woa!  Now this was a blow to Tom...he's always been able to rely on this guy.  Oh well, I told him to call my friend, the one that shot him in court Monday!  $2,500 later he's hired.

Then there is Tara's panic attacks that we are dealing with, not to mention she's got the snotz this week.  Her counselor suggested a psychiatric specialist that we met with today.  All he did was a lot of history intake and charge me a whopping $170....and of course they are "out of network" and will not even attempt to work with us on getting IN network, gee thanks.  (Tom's insurance is through the NYPD - wooopie)  And we'll be back for more this Friday!

During Tom's arrest in March, the cops kept his truck registration and of course they didn't know anything about it on Monday when he was in court.  So....Tom heads to the DMV for a copy....WRONG!  They say that the tags are expired!  HUH???  The sticker says 12/06, did I miss Christmas???  They have no record of that (~) and tell Tom he has to pay the taxes ($93) and then come back with the receipt and THEN they will renew.  Sounds like we're going around in circles.

Annnnnnnnnnnnd....the copier at work has been broke since Friday morning - just when I need to copy a mound of truss diagrams.  The boss'es daughter has to be picked up from school and taken home; the Mexican's had their rally on Monday; and the inspections department cannot figure out a submittal for a revision to a revision.  That's why I work at Dramaville, Inc!

But........

On a lighter note, yesterday afternoon Tara & I played a little game.

Can you guess what it was???    Here birdie!  She's a girlie girl and I'm the tomboy, so I had to bite my tongue as she swang!  After school she called to tell me "guess what we did today" -----they picked and sucked on Honeysuckle.....now I hate to admit, but I have never done this until yesterday.  She showed me how to pick it off at the base, pull off the little green thing and "see the string?" pull it out and there is the bubble.  Tom was shocked that I, a good Suthern gal, had never done this, even his old yankee self had in his day.

I love Spring!  I hate June bugs and mosquitos.    This is my first rose bud of the year all in it's glory.  The March winds kept flipping our patio table and umbrella around so much till the brella finally broke all to pieces.  It had been mended last year with, of course, duct tape.

So when I got home Tuesday we had a brandy new umbrella!  Guess what color (here's the hint!).   Yay Tom!

Tuesday 2-fer's

Tuesday is just one day from HUMP DAY, but in thinking along the lines of "T" and what goes, I says to myself, "SELF" and no one replied.  Whew!  At least I know I was alone....so my thoughts came up with a few "Tuesday 2-fer's" that we all enjoy!

1.  BOGO- the typical term for Buy One Get One which can be anything from get one "free" or "1/2 off".  Shoes....this is where I get caught.

2.  2-fer a dollar....love these things rather than paying 59 cents a piece.

3.  2/$ at the grocery store got me this weekend on Slim Jim's and KoolAid singles.

4.  Buy 2, get one free.....by mail.  HUH????  This I noticed yesterday in the bra section of a local department store.  By the time I get #3, I'm not that size or style anymore!  Besides, I like immediate gratification.

5.  Hardee's apple pies...buy one get one FREE!  Totally EVIL!

My Husband is a Lucky Man

My Husband IS a lucky man.  As a native of this area, I know a lot of people.  I have had the privilege of growing up in a family run retail business where I've come in contact with them all.  And the ones that I don't know, well, I know their family members once removed or their neighbor's sister's mother's husband's dog's ate their plants neighbors that used to live "over yonder".  Even my boss says to me "you know everybody".  Yep.  One way or another, I have crossed paths with many people.

When I got out of High School and entered college and the real work force (JC Penny) boy was that different from the family business.  It teaches you "rules" that are reasonable for the John Q Public's of the world...in the family business, my step-Dad made the rules for sales and returns, etc.  We always acted fair and reasonable.

But that is not why I say my Hubby is so lucky.  I also trained and worked as a paralegal.  I had the opportunity to work through temporary agencies way back when and met a lot of people....worked for the state Senator (his law office not his Senate office).  Met the area's elite crem de la crem....the one's whose family owns 1/2 of the county and the family of the other 1/2....that type of people.   (I currently have a friend in the House of Rep's here.  Doesn't hurt to know some people.)  I went to work for a lawyer friend at his request back in the late 80's.....he had an attorney friend who just happens to be good friends with a local family where I live and he is now also my personal attorney.   He got me divorced, handled miss T's support and eventual termination of parental rights etc and gives me great advise when Tom has really screwed up.  Today as Tom stood in court, this attorney friend of mine, shot Tom!......

........................

.......................with a rubber band! as he was standing at the District Attorney's table!  Now this was a GOOD thing, because court rooms always make Tom edgy...I'm OK with them..been behind the scenes in my day.   As Tom turned to leave, he was greeted by a city officer, another friend of mine as well as the attorney who had just shot him.  At least Tom could come out laughing.  His new court date is June 1 and I'm sure it will be postponed too.  He has an excellent lawyer....the best in his field in this City, and he puts up with my interjections.  I am the type of person you have to "show me" or "prove it" to, so I ask a lot of questions.  Poor Tom.....he gives me the edited versions of conversations and meetings and I want/need to know it ALL!!!!

My Tom says it doesn't matter where we go or where we are, I will always meet someone that I know.  Even this past Dec 30th at Disney I ran into a lady and little girl that performed in the Nutcracker with us!  So beware...........
