Weekend's Review

Glad to read that everyone had a grand time this weekend!  My good news is that both of Miss Tara's dance teams won Gold 1st Place Saturday night at the competitions!  Woo hoo...way to go girls!

Well….it’s over.  Mother’s Day has come and gone.  My weekend was the pits thanks to my little girl and her bratty attitude towards her friend.  It started before they picked me up at work Friday (3pm) I’m sure, cause as soon as I got in the driver’s seat I had to turn to her and say “It is NOT too late for me to take your friend home if THAT’S the attitude you’re going to have!”….grrrrrrrowling.  My Miss T would say to her friend Kassie “don’t do that” and “stop it” and “no!” and “I don’t want you to”………HELLO!!!????  The poor kid was just trying to see things that Miss T had brought with her.  Even wanted to try on her shoes, but would she let Kassie???  Noooooooooo.  Then there were issues over the pool.  K wanted to be in the outdoor pool; T said it was too cold; then one wanted to be at the lazy river and the other wanted to be in the indoor pool….I swear they did more walking from area to area than they did swimming!

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Poor Tom…..I left him in charge of them most of the time.  He was my referee this weekend, bless his heart.  Even he was surprised at T’s attitude.

My punishment?  I am writing 500 times:  "I will not invite one of Tara’s friends to go anywhere with us ever again."

I kinda felt like Amy over at onecrabn3lilfish/LivingaWeeblesLife .  I could not control my otherwise nice and kind child.  It was like PMS had attacked her.  She snapped almost every time her mouth opened.  K would even ask her “how am I bugging you?” and she would ask me why Tara was like she was.  I couldn’t really explain it except to say that maybe T had not gotten enough rest this week.  I felt so sorry for Kassie.  T was so bad that I made her take a nap Saturday afternoon BEFORE going to the dance competition.  Told me “only for 30 minutes” and I quickly reminded her that her attitude would determine just how long she was to be there.  She didn’t like that one bit…as a matter of fact, when we layed down, she turned to her side and began tapping me with her foot.  I let it go…figured if I ignored her she’d quit and eventually fall asleep.  She did.  I had a more calm kid when this one woke up.

K had never played miniature golf – ever - so we went over to one of Tara’s favorite courses.  T had 2 hole in one's.  We had just enough time to get in a game before we had to be at the auditorium.  Tom didn’t want to do this first, but I said “hey, maybe it will lighten T up and she will be much nicer and relaxed and we can get through these dances tonight without incident”.  Yeah baby, I was right…….T was in a good mood, hung out with her friends from dance.  But she still answered Kassie with that “ugh” attitude every time she asked a question about shoes, costumes, makeup etc.

I thought Sunday, Mother’s Day, would be better…………

………..WRONG!  We checked out and it started before we could get in the truck!  Tom had to take Miss T to the side before we were seated at Red Lobster and have a talk with her.  I don’t know what was said, but T came to the table in tears and Tom says “not good”…..hmmmmmmm.  After a while, she was fine.  We went to the outlet – I was in pursuit of shoes, of course, and they were OK.  Guess they were glad to be going home.  Sad cause they are such good friends.

I called my Mom to say HMD and tell her that I was shocked over T’s attitude.  She was just as concerned.  I began to wonder, is this related to the panic attacks?  As I think back, I used to get snappy when I was in a “different” situation, out of my comfort zone.  Could it be that T was uncomfortable having Kassie along?  Must jot this one down for thecounselor.

Happy Mother’s Day to me huh?

Happy Weekend To All - I'm Outta Here

YAY!  We are off to Myrtle Beach this afternoon for Miss T's dance competition.  We usually stay the whole weekend, just as a mini vacation, when we go to these competitions.  The last stay over was in Durham.  She doesn't dance until 8:30pm Saturday oh darn....so I guess we'll just have to lounge by the pool and relax for a while.  I'll leave Tom there with the dance Mom's and the kids.  T's friend is coming with us this trip, so she'll have loads of fun (I hope).  I don't want anymore of that panic drama from her, not this weekend!  I am armed though if she does.  I hope she brings her CD......

My friend Teresa just dropped in to pick up a check.  Her DH supplies and installs the carpet in the townhouses we build.  She is sooooooo awesome.  This is the lady I was out with about a month ago, bowling, drinking, playing pool, drinking, went downtown to a bar, drinking.  Did I mention we'd been drinking???  She is sooooooo pretty as a matter of fact she used to be a model in California.  WTF is she doing here?! DUH.  Teresa makes me laugh and feel good.  She hooked me up with her hairdresser since my bestest friend in the whole wide world went to work at a desk job and gave up hairdo's.  (Grrrrr still reeling over that one!)

Speaking of my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Cindilouwho has a mass growing in her breasts and its getting worse.  She's off to the surgeon this morning to have a look see.  Haven't heard from her yet.  Calling her now.....gettin voice mail.  Aw... her voice makes me smile, leaving message.  Wish she could go to MB with us.  We'd have loads of fun.  Last time we were there together was when Tom & I got married....me and cindilouwho went to the strip club....ended up drunker than skunks (didn't know skunks drank), took a cab back to the hotel about 2am.  Tom said I was loud.  Well at least I wasn't knocking on some big ol black man's door at 4am like SHE was.  Beating it saying "open up I know you're in there".  Imagine her surprise when HE opened the door and she had to look waaaaaaaay up into this big ol man's grumpy face.  All she could do was say "wrong room" and bolt!  I so laugh about that.  We named him Rufus cause it matched the R sounds in Wrong room.  Wrong Room Rufus!  Need I say we make our own fun, and trouble!

Speaking of that day, in my wedding video you can see cindilouwho wavering when she's spozed to have her eyes closed during the prayer. Guess she was still a bit inebriated! LOL!!!!!!

Well, here's wishing every Mother a Happy Mother's Day weekend....hope ya'll get lots of NICE surprises.  I'll be playing putt putt I hope!

I gotta vent!

I am a generous person...YES I AM!  Because I work for a builder, I offer to take the guys checks to their various banks, after all, I'm going out with mine too and they are in the field.  So I hit the locals, Bank of America, Wachovia, First Cit - one for each guy, etc.  Now I'm all for personal banking and "knowing" your depositors, but I am sooooooooo fed up with the tellers calling me "Mrs...." whoever's check it is.

PLEASE STOP DOING THIS!  YOU SO ARE NOT BEING A TRUE PERSONAL BANKER!   JUST SAY THANK YOU MAM AND HAVE A NICE DAY!

So if ya'll out in J-land know any tellers, please pass this along!

Also, I've got to admit that I don't watch American Idol or any of those "reality" type shows.  They just seem to go overboard or extreme and oh poo.  But I do like the concept of AI....like the old gong show.  New talent should be discovered.  I am sad that Chris got voted off because everyone seemed to be really caught up in this guy.  I hope that he will be able to put his talents to use and sign with an agency.

I was noticing on the weather channel that FLA seems to be getting some precip!  Yay...my FIL said they needed some in the Tampa area.  My lil bro is heading to Orlando for a convention - and rain.  He sells/distributes dental stuff...the stuff they make the forms out of and all that.  He loves his job and is paid well.  He is also attending college too....a perpetual kind of student.  Hey, wouldn't you if at age almost 26 mom & dad were paying for your housing and school?  Da bumb!  Seriously, he's a good kid.  Just so happens he is going through some depression lately - I would have never thought he would be the one!  Doc's got him taking some Lexapro to wind him down.  I think it all started when he broke up (rudely) with a girl plus the fact that his hair is thinning.  Someone call the whaaaammmmmbulance!

There's another brother between us.  He's one that is a true "fisherman"...loves to fish and tell fish stories, you know the kind.  The older the story the bigger the fish.  Only trouble is he's like that about most everything.  Told his wife one day that their baby (now 9mos) was walking....uh, duh...one foot in front of the other then flump! does not count as walking....got the poor lady excited for nothing!  This brother can be a thorn in my side.  It's all about HIM!  Big man on campus kind and don't have the pot to piss in or throw away!  (Lord forgive me)  We have a saying....when we're telling another what he has said we'll say "HE said..." which tells the other to cut it in half and divide by 2 and believe that portion.  Sad......this one and I butt heads alot.  He is my full blooded brother....the lil one is my mom's kid by current hubby.

There is an older brother that I have...he's my Dad's kid.  I didn't learn about him until I was 23 and it was quite by accident.  My step mom was having dad placed in a dry out facility and we were talking and she says "...and you know about Randy".  I say "yeah" (though I had no clue).  When I mentioned this to Mom she said she recalled that before she & my dad were married that there was a rumor about a kid, but she never investigated.  HELLO!!!  I would have been a bloodhound and kept on till I knew something cause the TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!  My Granny (now deceased) is the one who did the actual confirming for me.  I've only met him one time briefly.  His daughter goes to college here and he lives over towards Lumberton somewhere.  I see the "niece" from time to time and she knows who I am, we talk small talk.  Sad huh?  We're blood but not "family".

OK.......I think I'm done with my venting

A Quickie

Just a FYI comin attcha.....I like walmart.com music downloads.  So yesterday I picked out some to go along with Tara's "relax" CD that I'm making for her.  I ripped 2 that I had, made my choices and added some from dot com.  Last night as she was listening to it, she called me to come to her room.  When I got there she had tears and gave me a hug.  She said "oh mommy that song makes me happy and sad".....it was "I Can Only Imagine".

One of the "tunes" was a story by Lori Lite called "The Goodnight Caterpillar".  It tells of a caterpillar in a hurry to prepare for his cocoon and how a little girl helps him slow down, breathe and relax.  This is her favorite.  She said she had to use that story a couple times in school on Monday.  So today I suggested that she take the CD with her.  She didn't need to listen to it at school today!  That is good.....she is able to cope and get herself through the day at school.  At least she will have it if she needs to focus and calm down.  Her therapist suggested this tool and her teachers are all OK with it which I think is awesome!

Plus I have an herbal cream that my Mom had made especially for Tara's anxiety.  I dunno what's in it, but you massage a little into the bottoms of the feet before bed.  We did that last night.  Didn't have troubles in the getting to sleep department!!  WOOO HOOO!  Gotta have mom get some more from that herbalist.

Oh, Tom decided Monday to call me at work and growl "there's nothing to eat in this house"......he's talking to me, how shocking, and I said as much.  Told him I was surprised to hear from him, thought he was acting childish.  He kept up his growling attitude and I said "ya know, you need to grow up!" and I hung up the phone.  Tara called back asking if we could go out to eat...sure.  When I met them, Mr Man was sweet and quiet and very pleasant.....WHO IS THIS MAN??????

Going to Mexico!

This was in my mailbox this morning.....makes sense!

MR. PRESIDENT, I'M HEADED TO MEXICO

   Dear President Bush:

I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family,  and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements.   I know you can help with this.

I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration
quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.
So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

   1. Free medical care for my entire family.
   2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
   3. All government forms need to be printed in English.
  4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.
   5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
   6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the  flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.
  7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
   8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy
 access to government services.
   9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.
  10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.
   11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on  my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
   12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and don't enforce any labor laws or tax laws.
   13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice
and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy.

I know this is an easy request because you already do all these
things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.  However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail hunting with your V.P.

Thank you so much for your kind help.
Sincerely,
ME

CALLLLLLLLGON!

Good Sunday evening J-land.  Today has been dark in many ways.  The sky was grey all day and it has just now decided to boom & rain.  Tom has been in a funk since last night…he’ll grow out of it.?

I’ve been journal surfing……looks like everyone has had a decent weekend……enjoying their traditional Pizza night and household chores…ugh laundry!  The only thing that constantly multiplies and I STILL have nothing to wear!!   Hadon still teases me, saying we’re “much more than friends” yet I think he’s still looking for his keys!  Our friend  buggieboo1 has taught us a new word this weekend……Meningocele.  Denise’s reading said:  Decisions should be guided by what is just, true and honorable.  This is what I tried to tell my DH this weekend only it got him acting like a child.  But I still think I’ll make this a poster for our house!  Thanks Denise!

I so want to be neighbor’s with a lot of you……some will have to move South cause I’m just not into cold weather.

Me?  I can’t seem to get motivated enough to get out and work on my yard like the rest of you, even though it needs a touch.   Speaking of motivated…I just love Shelly’s quilt she made from all our comments …WTG !!!

Motivation……….OK I got a little this past week.  I began that miserable feat of finishing the paint job in Miss T’s room.  Each wall is now a different color.  The new armoir was put in place and I spent a lot of time rearranging her drawers and clothes and washing and ironing.   Whew!  Ironing!

Tom & I were going out Saturday night since Tara was at a friend’s house.  As we were preparing though, she called for me to come get her.  Seems her friend began watching a movie that Miss T didn’t want to see because it was scary and the friend wouldn’t turn it off.  I tried to explain to her that this was rude of the friend, but it didn’t matter at this point because Tara was well into panic mode.  So today, Sunday, she and I had a mother/daughter day of breakfast, shopping and watching one of the many Peter Pan movies.  She is admitting some of her anxiety is from the “d” word (she won’t say DIE).   That is her fear at night and of course she is fearing something will happen to me.  I blame this on fairy tales….none of them have mother’s if you think of it, except Sleeping Beauty.  The new doc gave me a Rx for Xanax for her just in case we’re away again like before when she has these attacks and the “show must go on”.  Man I hope she gets a grip soon.  It breaks my heart to see her suffering these attacks.  We have a new CD by Lori Lite that has 4 stories on it….T’s favorite is Goodnight Caterpillar.  I’m thinking I’ll burn that to a separate CD for her to take to school.  Her teacher said she could listen to it if she needed to.

Childish hubby.  DH….call it what you will…dumb hubby, ****head etc, but I gotta say sometimes he just is 5 shy of a 6 pack.  Since kid came home, we couldn’t go out together.  He wanted to go alone….hmmmm.  OK, here’s my take on this.  He can go, but he can’t be hanging out with the plumber friends (the ones who drink & drug and get him into more trouble) AND he can’t be drinking.  HELLO!!!  March was a stop for the DUI and he wants to go out AGAIN!  Now he’s pouting.  I can’t stand it when a grown man pouts……and he refuses to talk to me….even NOW and it’s 11:45pm Sunday night.  There is no rationalizing here.  I’m just letting him be.  If he wants to ruin his weekend, then so be it.  He won’t even talk to us.  His loss.  Hey, at least it’s been quiet.

Well, everyone here’s to the start of another week at Dramaville, Inc.
