I gotta vent!

I am a generous person...YES I AM!  Because I work for a builder, I offer to take the guys checks to their various banks, after all, I'm going out with mine too and they are in the field.  So I hit the locals, Bank of America, Wachovia, First Cit - one for each guy, etc.  Now I'm all for personal banking and "knowing" your depositors, but I am sooooooooo fed up with the tellers calling me "Mrs...." whoever's check it is.

PLEASE STOP DOING THIS!  YOU SO ARE NOT BEING A TRUE PERSONAL BANKER!   JUST SAY THANK YOU MAM AND HAVE A NICE DAY!

So if ya'll out in J-land know any tellers, please pass this along!

Also, I've got to admit that I don't watch American Idol or any of those "reality" type shows.  They just seem to go overboard or extreme and oh poo.  But I do like the concept of AI....like the old gong show.  New talent should be discovered.  I am sad that Chris got voted off because everyone seemed to be really caught up in this guy.  I hope that he will be able to put his talents to use and sign with an agency.

I was noticing on the weather channel that FLA seems to be getting some precip!  Yay...my FIL said they needed some in the Tampa area.  My lil bro is heading to Orlando for a convention - and rain.  He sells/distributes dental stuff...the stuff they make the forms out of and all that.  He loves his job and is paid well.  He is also attending college too....a perpetual kind of student.  Hey, wouldn't you if at age almost 26 mom & dad were paying for your housing and school?  Da bumb!  Seriously, he's a good kid.  Just so happens he is going through some depression lately - I would have never thought he would be the one!  Doc's got him taking some Lexapro to wind him down.  I think it all started when he broke up (rudely) with a girl plus the fact that his hair is thinning.  Someone call the whaaaammmmmbulance!

There's another brother between us.  He's one that is a true "fisherman"...loves to fish and tell fish stories, you know the kind.  The older the story the bigger the fish.  Only trouble is he's like that about most everything.  Told his wife one day that their baby (now 9mos) was walking....uh, duh...one foot in front of the other then flump! does not count as walking....got the poor lady excited for nothing!  This brother can be a thorn in my side.  It's all about HIM!  Big man on campus kind and don't have the pot to piss in or throw away!  (Lord forgive me)  We have a saying....when we're telling another what he has said we'll say "HE said..." which tells the other to cut it in half and divide by 2 and believe that portion.  Sad......this one and I butt heads alot.  He is my full blooded brother....the lil one is my mom's kid by current hubby.

There is an older brother that I have...he's my Dad's kid.  I didn't learn about him until I was 23 and it was quite by accident.  My step mom was having dad placed in a dry out facility and we were talking and she says "...and you know about Randy".  I say "yeah" (though I had no clue).  When I mentioned this to Mom she said she recalled that before she & my dad were married that there was a rumor about a kid, but she never investigated.  HELLO!!!  I would have been a bloodhound and kept on till I knew something cause the TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!  My Granny (now deceased) is the one who did the actual confirming for me.  I've only met him one time briefly.  His daughter goes to college here and he lives over towards Lumberton somewhere.  I see the "niece" from time to time and she knows who I am, we talk small talk.  Sad huh?  We're blood but not "family".

OK.......I think I'm done with my venting

i love reading your entries, they are so entertaining!  maybe you should just say something to the tellers, tell them what happens when they assume... and yep! we have rain in the sunshine state, and we couldnt be happier about it! as for your brother being upset about his hair thinning, just tell him to shave it. my hubby was all bent out of shape because he went grey prematurely, he just shaved it and i think it looks great! i love the fisherman brother...lol  too funny!

Is that the best rant and venting you got??? hahaha Hugs Lanny

It's amazing how people assume things isn't it? It's the same over here. I have a different surname to my youngest daughter (I didn't marry her dad) and I get called Mrs........ and its NOT my name lol.......I give up telling them now, just nod and smile!!! Hope your brother "chills" soon.....depression is an awful thing. In my experience fisherman exaggerate about everything!!! A knock on effect from the "it was this big" scenario lol :-) At least you know Randy, and your niece, and small talk is better than nothing hon. You take care of yourself!
lotsa love Debbie ~xxxx~

Yes, we do need some rain badly.  Some parts of Central Florida aren't getting anything out of their taps and wells have gone dry.  My own water doesn't have very much pressure and I hate that.  Doing a rain dance.  We have gotten a couple little showers in the last day or two, so hoping that will bring more soon.  Sorry bout those tellers, wish they wouldn't do that too.   GBU, Shelly

That is really nice you are thinking of the other workers and going to the bank for them!!  Very generous!!  Yes, the whole brother thing... I have two half brothers and half sister we've only seen twice in our lives.  It's frustrating to say the least.  I totally understand.

Funny about the bank tellers.  You'd think nowadays with so much divorce they wouldn't call anyone Mrs.  Depression sucks.  You can never tell who it will hit at any time.  At least, you've met Randy and have some type of contact with his daughter.  I guess even though he's your brother, you never knew him so it's like meeting a stranger.  Must feel really weird.  HUGS  Chris

You have a very interesting family!! I enjoyed reading all about them. Its been raining in Ohio for 3 days straight. When we vacationed in Orlando in 6/05 it rained the ENTIRE time i was there. I hated that!

People shouldn't assume another is a Mrs. I agree with you they should just say "thank you and have a great day". You have an interesting assortment of brothers with different personalities. Hope you have a Great Mother's Day! Helen

Probably part of the bank thing is that they are told over and over again to greet people by their names. HOWEVER, you`d think they`d want to be sure of the name before they do that! LOL
Well, I only have one brother and we get along great. He is my only sibling.
